Weimaraner (short coat) Dog

Satch the Dog needs a home

Heartland Weim Rescue is NOT a shelter, we are a group of volunteers fostering our weims in our homes in the states we cover. Please be patient when waiting for us to return your phone calls, and e-mails. All volunteers also work full time jobs and return calls as soon as they can, usually in the evening hours.

Meet Satch Mo, an 11 year old retired hunting Weim. As expected with his experienced age, Satch Mo likes the finer things in life like soft dog beds, lounging around the house, and chasing squirrels. However he is also perfectly happy to sprawl on the hard floor, especially when he’s worked up a sweat chasing squirrels and other small animals outside. Don’t let his experienced age fool you, Satch Mo loves to run around outside and protect his yard and people from all the small critters out there. He also loves to go for walks and explore new areas. But be sure to hold on tight, those hunting instincts might kick in if a squirrel crosses his path. Satch Mo knows sit, stay, wait, kennel, and I’m sure others associated with hunting we haven’t discovered yet. Satch Mo loves his kennel, and will sleep in there at night or during the day. He has been left free to roam in his foster home occasionally, but make sure all food and recyclables (especially plastic) are put out of his reach. He will greet everyone that walks in front of your home for you, everyone must know just how awesome his family is. We’re working on only announcing people coming up to the house. The mailman jokes that we don’t need a doorbell, we have a Satch-bell. You can even retrieve a package from the front porch, and Satch Mo will sit and watch you, as long as you tell him to sit and stay. Satch Mo would prefer to be an only dog, though could potentially live with a very special submissive dog that is around the same size as him. He currently lives with a submissive female who he cuddles with. Satch Mo cannot go to a home with small dogs or cats, he might confuse them as prey. Satch Mo would do better in a household with older children or adults only. He currently lives with a baby who he does great with, though he is watched very closely. Satch Mo is fostered in Midwest City, OK. His adoption donation is $150
